JOB SUMMARY

This position is in the Maintenance Department and reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent, and works closely with Production, Capital Projects, TA, HES, and Maintenance Department personnel.

The Project & Outage Coordinator will interface with the appropriate maintenance, projects, and manufacturing resources to resolve, improve, and implement maintenance and project activities in a safe, responsible, and environmentally sound manner which is in compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for the productivity of the team that performs the task.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Major responsibilities for the Project & Outage Coordinator include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist with pre-job conference checklist with outside contractor prior to start of job and follow job to completion to ensure job goes safely and efficiently. - 20%
    • Ensure maintenance work procedures are followed to prevent injuries and improve efficiency.
    • Reviews job package and procedures prior to assigning to the craftsmen to ensure schedule compliance and consistency.
  • Manages the project/outage work schedule to align with production requirements by interfacing with operation personnel. - 20%
    • Coordinates job resources to meet work demands according to the schedule defined.
    • Reports the progress of the work performed each day to the appropriate resources.
    • Communicates effectively to operations any permitting requirements.
  • Provide field oversight with capital projects, Turnarounds, and large maintenance outages. - 30%
    • Oversee the work conducted in the field and remove any unnecessary barriers.
    • Verify that all scheduled job sequences have been completed.
    • Field verification of completed work & drives the RTO process.
  • Update work status with outside contractors and originator and communicates any scope deviations. - 10%
    • Review and approves outside contractor's timesheets.
    • Validate change orders and put systems in place to reduce.
  • Issue purchase requisitions as needed to procure necessary material and services. - 10%
  • HESQ responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following: 10%
    • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and incident Investigations.
    • Adhere to the work permit, RTM/RTO/RTS procedures.
    • Perform Management of Change (MOC) reviews for area of technical expertise.
    • Compliance to Clear Lake Plant Leadership Expectations.
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, Safe Start, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident, or injury incidents.
  • Understands and Supports the Clear Lake Facility Acrylic Monomers HSE2Q Commitment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIRED

Minimum years of experience:

7+ years experience in chemical plant maintenance

2+ years leadership experience and/or contractor management

Education and areas of focus:

High Scholl Diploma

  • Demonstrated leadership, learning and development skills.
    • Initiative and self-starter.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of plant, technical, and management personnel.
  • Basic computer skills (email, MS Office).
    • Experience with SAP
    • Experience with Primavera preferred.
    • Experience with purchase orders and requisitions.
