Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is recruiting for a Psychiatry Residency Program Director to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan.

Opportunities Details:

Under the direction of the Chief of the Psychiatry, direct, oversee, manage and evaluate all aspects of clinical services and medical education provided by members of the residency program to deliver accredited behavioral health services that meet all standards required by law; perform full range of administrative/operational responsibilities to ensure the efficient achievement of residency program goals.

  1. Prepare monitor and follow up on residency Performance Indicators.
  2. Prepare strategic planning for the residency
  3. Prepare or oversee the preparation of monthly schedules for teaching of students and residents.

Other Responsibilities:

  1. Foster the academic and professional development of the Psychiatry residents.
  2. Participate with the Hospital in the development and implementation of mechanisms and measures to optimize the appropriate utilization of behavioral health services, quality assurance and patient satisfaction.
  3. Plans joint programs and procedures with other departments for coordinating services with other patient care services.
  4. With the Chair of Psychiatry, establishes residency training program capital equipment needs and capital equipment purchasing plan.
  5. Participates in the Department's Quality Assessment and Improvement Committee.
  6. Acts as direct supervisor and consultant for all staff assigned to residency program.
  7. Participates in educational meetings to improve and provide continuous quality training to residents.
  8. Establishes mechanisms for interviewing new residents and onboarding/orientating and providing in-service training for new residents.
  9. Recommends space and other resources needed by the residency training program to maintain a satisfactory training experience.
  10. Participate in other related responsibilities as assigned by the Chair of Psychiatry.

Perform all responsibilities at a level of competence that is recognized as acceptable by the Employer (PAGNY), New York City Health + Hospitals, and the communities served by NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, in accordance with applicable Hospital Governing Policies, relevant third-party payors' requirements, and relevant state and federal laws and regulations.
  3. Demonstrate appropriate professionalism (as defined by the Medical Director and the management and governance of PAGNY) in all leadership and clinical activities.
  4. Knowledge of Patient Safety Requirements.
Qualifications
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of New York.
  • Board certified in Psychiatry.
  • Proven clinical and administrative leadership experience.

Annual Base Salary: $272,000 to $282,000 based on 40-hour work week.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $329,200* to $339,200*, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.
  • Visa sponsorship will be considered for this position.
