Responsibilities

General Description

A Scale House Attendant is an hourly-rated skilled craft position that performs services at the clean fill dump site and recycling center duties described more fully, below. A Scale House Attendant typically performs a wide variety of tasks, transferring from one task to another as the workflow dictates.

Key Duties

This position at Act Recycling is responsible for the scaling of all trucks that enter the site while providing efficient, courteous customer service to internal and external customers. This position will maintain a variety of records, collect fees, calculate payments, check loads, and perform other related duties as required.

    Approaches all encounters with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Directs customers and other traffic, and answers questions accurately.
  • Answers scale house incoming phone calls.
  • Accurately enter loads received and outgoing tickets into database; create load tickets and collect payment.
  • Correctly calculates payments for account customers, and run credit cards.
  • Work closely with our internal accounting department for billing and invoicing purposes.
  • Ensures that incoming loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.
  • Provides general upkeep of the Scale House.
  • Keeps immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring attention.
  • Attends company sponsored training and meetings as directed.
  • Maybe required to work overtime, and occasional Saturdays.
  • Typical work hours are Monday thru Friday 8:00-4:30.
