Below, you'll find other important information about this position. This position will develop, manage and lead change in clinical performance at all levels of ambulatory operations. This position is responsible for the efficient operations and process improvement of the outpatient clinics with focus on staffing models, referrals, reporting, budgeting/finance, and patient access. Responsible for leading clinical departments to improve and optimize patient access for the best patient experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or related field

EXPERIENCE:

1. Five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting with a strong knowledge in ambulatory/hospital clinics.

2. One (1) year of supervisory experience.

1. Develops tools and strategic techniques to accurately predict and monitor referrals across ambulatory sites as designated by senior leadership to identify areas of opportunity.

2. Leverages standardization and process improvement techniques to improve business operations.

3. Manages costs toward the improvement of net revenue.

4. Strategically develops, refines and improves performance metrics and measurement methods using standardized and customized tools.

5. Consistently measures results.

6. Selects, hires, terminates, manages, and evaluates the effectiveness of employees on a continuous basis to optimize productivity.

7. Performs performance evaluations that provide objective, constructive feedback regarding strengths and opportunities for improvement. Coaches and counsels to correct identified performance deficiencies.

8. Responsible for developing and monitoring the budgets to include cost effective staffing patterns, review of trends and variances to develop long range plans for budget needs.

9. Manages the operating and capital budget in close collaboration with leadership and the management team.

10. Mentors and influences administrative and physician leaders, management, physicians, and employees in a manner which emphasizes the importance of teamwork, collaboration, accountability, and the sharing of information, resources, and best practices amongst stakeholders across the organization to meet defined goals, objectives, and performance metrics in a timely manner.

11. Fosters ongoing revenue cycle improvement.

12. Aggressively mitigates all variances to budget.

13. Makes sound decisions on best use of resources in support of priorities and strategies.

14. Develops tools and strategic techniques to accurately predict and monitor capacity across ambulatory sites as designated by senior leadership to improve access and the patient experience.

15. Develops and implements process to strategically quantify and increase the percentage of visits to optimize capacity and access.

16. Manages all building construction/renovations for all ambulatory clinics. Consists of ensuring the project is delivered on time and on budget.

17. Mentors and influences administrative and physician leaders, management, physicians, and employees in a manner which emphasizes the importance of teamwork, collaboration, accountability, and the sharing of information, resources, and best practices amongst stakeholders across the organization to meet defined goals, objectives, and performance metrics in a timely manner.

18. Plans, implements, manages, and evaluates the delivery of ambulatory projects as it is related to patient care in accordance with the policy and procedures, philosophy, and mission.

19. Works closely with faculty, staff, and peers to successfully complete projects and to identify opportunities to improve patient processes.

20. Collaborates with senior leadership to define and execute deliverables.

21. Space planning and utilization for all ambulatory sites.

22. Works collaboratively with leadership to develop and implement new initiatives.

23. Maintains benchmarks for ambulatory operation strategic initiatives and metrics.

24. Maintains KPI's within the Ambulatory Department Dashboard (ADD) such as completed visits, new patient lag, bump rates, no-show rates.

25. Works collaboratively with leadership and Administrators to establish goals and provide follow-up/updates.

26. Reviews key performance indicators (productivity, access, financial outcomes, etc.) to maximize Ambulatory sites of service contribution to WVUHS.

27. Works with leadership to plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of operational process as it relates to patient care in accordance with the policy and procedures, philosophy, and mission.

28. Assists in the development and strategic planning of ambulatory services and clinics.

29. Assists with the planning, evaluating, development, and implementation of new clinic services and programs from looking at market data to finding a location, evaluating services, clinic design, clinic build, outfitting equipment and operationalizing/opening the clinic.

30. Assists with review and development of future clinical needs to serve the community and WVU Medicine.

31. Assists with planning and development of new primary, urgent and specialty care sites.

32. Supports large multi-specialty groups.

33. Manages clinic templating access for WVUH/UHA departments.

34. Manages various access initiatives: exam room utilization, slot utilization, provider visits, key clinical metrics, etc.

35. Gives presentations of quarterly updates to departmental chairman, administrators & their teams to review clinical stats, staffing models, budget performance, and marketing strategies.

36. Oversight of all system scheduling departments for WVU Medicine to ensure accuracy and standardization.

1. Experience in developing strong physician relationships and able to lead others in initiatives aimed at strengthening patient and physician experience, integrating and optimizing services and developing a motivated, high-performing team.

2. Demonstrated success in physician group strategic planning and in improving operational and financial performance through cost control, productivity enhancements and clinical outcome improvement strategies, along with a high level of patient and physician satisfaction.

3. Exhibits problem solving skills and productively manages conflict.
