Minimum Requirements

IT Solutions Engineer / Analyst III | Palo Verde Nuclear Plant



  • Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field
  • AND five (5) years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Requires strong technical knowledge within a job area or system and basic knowledge across related technical areas


Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications



  • Knowledge of multiple programming languages, database management systems and development platforms
  • Skills in understanding and explaining highly technical issues and solutions in non-technical terms; working effectively in teams and across organizations; balancing and prioritizing between multiple work streams; collaborating with colleagues and teams in different fields across a diverse organization; solving advanced complex problems in own area of work
  • Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
  • Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.
  • This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
  • These are a condition of employment at PVNGS.

Major Accountabilities

1) Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products and/or in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms

2) Analyzes and assists with creating reusable and enterprise-level modules/applications

3) Conducts performance reviews and recommends improvements to existing codes

4) Reviews and recommends equipment, resources and software

5) Recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards.

6) Trains users in conversion and implementation of system

7) Conduct integration system testing and evaluations

8) Leads the design, development and implementation of new solutions

Home based: Home based employees primarily work from their home offices and come into an APS facility on an as-needed basis.

*Employees are expected to reside in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners-based employees).

*Working from a home office requires adequate technology and an appropriate ergonomic set up.

*Role types are subject to change based on business need.

Any PVGS employee may be called upon for random Fitness For Duty Testing (FFD) during scheduled working hours. Employees must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
