Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Surgery - Endocrine Surgeon

The Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking outstanding candidates for an academic endocrine surgeon to join our world-renowned Section of Endocrine Surgery. Candidates should have training in the surgical care of patients with thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal diseases, must have completed an AAES (American Association of Endocrine Surgeons) fellowship or Complex General Surgical Oncology (CGSO) approved fellowship with a focus on endocrine diseases by the time of hire. The applicant's materials should list (pending) qualifications upon submission. Requirements include excellent clinical skills in endocrine surgery, significant experience in advanced thyroid cancer, minimally invasive parathyroidectomy, neck ultrasonography and minimally invasive adrenalectomy. The ideal candidate will also have experience in innovative areas in Endocrine Surgery, such as thermal ablation of thyroid tumors, remote access thyroid and parathyroid surgery, posterior retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy, and fluorescence-assisted thyroid and parathyroid surgery.

This position also will encourage further development of an academic career in health services, translational, or basic science research, with the potential for dedicated time to pursue research efforts. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue independent research funding.

Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department's residency training and educational programs.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $149,700 - $393,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
