RESPONSIBLITIES

Technical Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage survey field crews for a wide variety of projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction staking, and more.
  • Train, mentor, and develop junior surveyors, sharing knowledge of innovative survey techniques.
  • Process, analyze, and integrate survey data using advanced software to deliver high-quality results to clients.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art survey technology, including laser scanning, drone technology, and cutting-edge GPS systems to gather accurate data.
  
  
  
  
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate field notes, sketches, and perform complex calculations.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between survey data and project plans in the field.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  
  
  
  

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or in a similar leadership role.
• Proficiency in using advanced survey tools like laser scanners, drones, total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
• Experience with survey data processing software (e.g., Trimble Business Center, Autodesk, etc.) and point cloud data analysis.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• A solid understanding of surveying principles and the ability to apply them in the field.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent (Survey-related certifications or coursework, particularly in new technologies, is a plus).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR WORKING CONDITIONS

* Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, & walking

* Interacting with technology (computer, cellphone, etc.)

* Ability to lift and/or carry items up to 50 lbs.

* Driving or flying - to offices, jobsites, client meetings, etc.

* Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
