Waste Connections is now hiring for a Corporate Recruiter based out of our Vancouver, WA office!

This is a 100% in office position.

How you'll perform the role:

Our priority is to make sure our sites have someone local that can help them with their recruiting initiatives and retention plans.

As a Corporate Recruiter you are responsible for:

  • Building relationships with district and division management to assess staffing needs and provide effective recruiting and retention solutions.
  • Delivering all areas of the recruitment process including sourcing, screening, scheduling, and interviewing.
  • Partner with recruiting coordinators on post offer process to ensure smooth hiring experience.
  • Planning and conducting hiring events.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with recruiting sources including candidates, employees, other recruiters, trade school and college officials, business associations, state job agencies, etc. to foster an ongoing pipeline of highly competent and qualified candidates.
  • Taking steps with local leadership to ensure all new hires have a superior Day 1 experience.
  • Creating and maintaining a check in process with new hires in order to provide feedback to the leadership team on how retention may be improved.
  • Assist employees with understanding and using company benefit programs.
  • Escalating issues to Region and/or Corporate as necessary.

What we need from you:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recruiting experience (agency or corporate) managing a requisition load is required - preferably high volume, skilled trade roles.
  • College degree is required.
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships with hiring managers, providing exceptional communication on requisition status, candidate updates, and insight into employee market.
  • Passion around creating an excellent candidate experience and promoting the brand within the marketplace.
  • Ability to travel monthly to sites throughout assigned division (primarily in Washington State).
  • Prior experience in an ATS as well as an HRIS system.
  • Have self-driven project management skills and the ability to manage multiple matters and projects while demonstrating sound judgment, decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Compensation:

Salary: 77K-80K

Bonus: 10%
