As an SIU Investigations Manager with American Family Insurance Claims Services, you will implement insurance fraud control strategies in assigned territory that align with SIU's mission and support its departmental strategic and operational goals. Manage a team of investigators and vendor resources to ensure investigations are performed observing SIU guidelines and quality standards. Identify developmental opportunities for direct reports and collaborate with them to create appropriate action plans. Arrange fraud awareness / detection training that address current and latest insurance fraud trends and schemes. You will report to an SIU Senior Manager.

Position Compensation Range:

$97,000.00 - $164,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Work with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support on-going development.
  • Lead with influence and expertise and contribute to division or department leadership team. Communicate and support organization mission, vision, values and policies.
  • Assess investigator resource capabilities to determine resource needs.
  • Identify external expert and investigative resources to supplement company resources and support the requirements of investigations.
  • Monitor and review vendor investigation resources' work product for quality and timeliness.
  • Implement and improve investigation guidelines. Work with investigators to ensure delivery of high-quality investigations.
  • Assist investigators in determining course and extent of investigative activity required for resolution of the case.
  • Collaborate with business partners to develop and implement anti-fraud plans and strategies to identify, prevent and mitigated fraudulent claim losses.
  • Collaborate with fraud forensic analysts, examiners, and business partners to identify insurance fraud activity.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with members of the insurance industry, law enforcement agencies, and anti-fraud organizations to gather and share information regarding fraud.
  • Serve anti-fraud subject matter expert and collaborate with appropriate training and educational resources to develop and deliver and appropriate anti-fraud training to staff, internal / external business partners and customers.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrate experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
  • Demonstrate effective people management or project leadership experience.
  • Solid knowledge of property and casualty claims operations including claims processes, procedures, best practices, and service levels.
  • Solid knowledge of special investigation operations to include processes, performance measures, strategies, insurance fraud schemes and associated indicators.
  • Demonstrate experience investigating suspected insurance fraud activity involving multi-line auto and property claims.
  • Demonstrate experience developing and delivering anti-fraud detection training to internal and external business partners.
  • Basic experience actively participating in special investigation industry associations and collaborating with special investigation industry peers to combat insurance fraud activity.
  • Solid knowledge of federal, state and local laws, regulations and practices on states within designated operating territory.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 10%.
  • 3+ years prior SIU Investigation experience
  • Multi-line SIU experience preferred

In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from home, proximate to one of our office locations (within approximately 35-50 miles). On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, trainings, and culture events.
