Quality Engineer I

The Opportunity:

Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Quality Engineer to optimize our Avantor Fluid Handling/ Quality Assurance organization. This role is full-time, on site at our Morrisville, NC location.

What we're looking for:

Minimum Education Requirement

  • Highschool/ GED

Experience

Required (1+ yrs):

  • Quality engineering and or quality assurance
  • Conducting root cause analysis investigation
  • Performing risk assessments and evaluations to identify appropriate corrective action
  • Supporting customer complaints & CAPA management
  • Using quality engineering tools and techniques to develop, align and optimize systems and processes
  • Initiating methods and procedures for supporting the quality management system
  • Supporting service provider qualification and monitoring
  • Business level written and oral communication skills
  • Collaboration tool experience (IE: MS Office)
  • Reading, understanding and following procedures

Preferred:

  • Medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Audit support
  • Escalating non-conforming material issues according to established procedures.
  • QMS/ ERP systems
  • Supporting a calibration program
  • Supporting an environmental monitoring program
  • GMP knowledge
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Standard
  • Analytical/ mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Participating in/ supporting tiered daily management

Self-motivated with the drive to work independently and with a team, as a critical member of the Quality Assurance team the Quality Engineer will enact a high attention to detail.

This role will focus on:

  • Applying /maintaining quality evaluation and control systems/protocols.
  • Supporting investigations and driving impactful changes
  • Utilization and management of the electronic Quality Management System
  • Implementing methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
  • Conducting quality assurance tests and performing statistical analysis to assess the level of control and manage product quality risks.
