We are seeking a Secure Facility Administrator/Assistant Designated Security Representative to help us maintain compliance with NISPOM, RMF, and Department of Defense requirements for authorized government approved areas and restricted access facilities. As a member of our team, you'll contribute to providing security and facilities support for secure spaces. You'll join a hardworking team of Facility Security Officers, Department Security Representatives, Program Managers, and Information Systems Security Officers collaborating to develop and implement effective security methodologies. As a Secure Facility Administrator/Assistant Designated Security Representative...

Your primary responsibility will be to adhere to DOD security procedures and JHU/APL security policies, promptly reporting any security issues within the Closed Area to the Designated Security Representative. Additionally, you will assist the Designated Security Representative as needed..

  • You will coordinate and maintain the general housekeeping and security posture of secure and restricted facilities daily.
  • You will maintain access requirements for staff members using these facilities and develop and display relevant security and user information.
  • You will draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the protection of the classified material contained inside secure facilities.
  • You will create and deliver security education materials to all staff granted access to secure facilities.
  • You will partner with the APL Facility Security Office in conducting scheduled facility assessments, including annual government assessments.
  • You will collaborate with the Information Systems Security Officers and classified Systems Administrators to handle user access control to classified Information Systems including account maintenance and user access notifications.
  • Security investigations and classified spill remediation.
  • Ensuring all REDD staff are properly trained on current security requirements and procedures.
  • Providing subject matter expertise in resolving security matters as they arise and supporting relevant APL and REDD processes.
  • Supporting annual DCSA security inspections and internal APL assessments.
  • Performing additional ad hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a Bachelor 's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of related professional experience in a security-related role.
  • A working knowledge of DoD security processes and NISPOM requirements.
  • Have 1+ year experience maintaining user accounts in Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and communications skills.
  • Can apply effective collaborative abilities with all levels of staff.
  • Hold an active Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You 'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have...

  • Prior experience in government facility security or information security.
  • Experience developing user training or procedural documentation.
  • Baseline knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory or help desk technical support experience.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
