Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Global Design Director to uphold and evolve Vogue US's visual standard of excellence across print, digital, and social platforms.

  • Under the direction of the Global Creative Director and the Global Design Director, the Art Director will shape and evolve the visual identity of Vogue Mexico, ensuring alignment with the local editorial tone and Vogue's global aesthetic across all platforms.

  • Oversee the Vogue Mexico Design team, working with them to conceptualize and execute distinctive editorial design strategies and typographic approaches.

  • Work closely with editors and the visual team to create mood boards, visual strategies, and design concepts for print and digital editorial content. Develop compelling, on-brand visual narratives for stories on a wide variety of subjects.

  • Ensure storytelling remains fresh, dynamic, and reflective of Vogue's heritage and future-forward vision.

  • Art direct illustrations for web features and select artists for custom commissions for the magazine.

  • Play a key role in the design of tentpole events such as Vogue World, the Met Gala, and other high-profile initiatives, ensuring cohesive and innovative visual storytelling.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • BFA in Graphic Design or related field preferred.

  • 4+ years of experience as an editorial art director in a fast-paced media environment.

  • Extensive industry experience in art direction, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in editorial print design, typography, and visual storytelling.

  • Sophisticated design aesthetic with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of visual culture.

  • Creative problem-solver who can think conceptually and work quickly under tight deadlines.

  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Candidates should be highly organized, deadline-driven, and adept at managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.

  • Experiencing managing people, with a keen interest in developing and nurturing talent.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both the US and Mexican media landscapes, ensuring that their work upholds Vogue's legendary design heritage while introducing innovative and regionally resonant storytelling.

The expected base salary range for this position is from $103,000-$134,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
