Job Overview & Responsibilities

As a Systems Engineering Leader 5, this individual manages all phases of program operations, ensuring cost, schedule, and technical performance align with objectives. They lead a cohesive team, develop key program documents, and collaborate across functions to manage resources and risks. They oversee supplier integration, track performance, and drive process improvements to achieve program goals.

The job responsibilities will include leading a team required to execute, but not limited to the following:



  • Manifest Planning, Scheduling and Program Integration

    • Manifest coordination, scheduling transportation of major flight hardware
    • Daily schedule coordination and deconfliction
    • Build ahead storage and management of flight hardware storage / staging
    • Incorporating enterprise schedule requirements


  • Mission Support

    • Procedure administration and coordination
    • Internal readiness review meetings
    • Procedure table-tops, as required
    • Customer administrative requirements


  • Sustainment

    • Commodity and propellant forecasting
    • Contracting support for Base / Range scope


  • Field Integration

    • Integration of launch operations enterprise control points
    • Coordinate with launch operations stakeholders on field support
    • Ensures tools, parts, paperwork are ready with workplace organized
    • Scouting in advance of launch operations execution
    • Required data collection


  • Base Support

    • Coordinates external support functions - CCSFS and KSC
    • Base Support coordination (Security, Safety, Labs, Cranes, etc.)
    • Coordination of pipeline usage, tanker offloads, and neighboring conflicts


  • Continuous Improvement

    • Lead program through cost and span reduction efforts, reporting metrics and data collection
    • Tracks performance, labor and schedule efficiency





Required Education

Bachelor

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 8 years of related work experience

Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelors degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience which includes at least 2 years of managing people, project management, and/or team lead experience
  • Continuous Improvement experience
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively for self and teams
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
  • Experience with task planning/budgeting/scheduling of resources
  • Experience with problem definition and issue resolution process steps



Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with Launch Operations
  • Knowledge of Ground Support Equipment
  • Cost Account Management experience
  • Leadership or team lead experience
  • Experience implementing Continuous Improvement projects
  • Comfortable compiling and providing presentations to executive leadership
  • Green Belt Certification is highly desired
