The HR Business Analyst is vital to the organization's success. They are responsible for ensuring that the organization adheres to employment laws, regulations, and internal policies related to Human Resources. In this role, you would have the opportunity to develop, implement, and monitor HR compliance programs and provide guidance related to internal policies and process development applicable to HR. Also, the HR Business Analyst will assist with maintaining up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and internal processes and will provide support to teams on compliance concerns and organizational policy alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Business Operations & Process Optimization

  • Partner with internal teams to streamline, document, and standardize HR operational processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance. Ensure procedures relating to HR functions are documented and updated and adhere to labor laws, regulations, and internal policies related to human resources.
  • Maintain HR documentation, compliance reports, and employee records in an organized and secure manner to support audit readiness and legal requirements.
  • Assist with HR technology initiatives, system updates, and process enhancements to optimize Talent operations.
  • Support HR project management efforts, tracking progress on key initiatives and ensuring timely execution.
  • Advising on procedural requirements, working to mitigate any risk to the company, and implementing corrective actions regarding HR practices.
  • Monitor HR activities by conducting audits on internal processes and providing guidance to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and internal practices.
  • Monitor employment law postings in all office locations to ensure.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with HR vendors and service providers, ensuring service-level agreements (SLAs) are met and costs are optimized.
  • Partner with internal governance and audit teams to address compliance concerns and maintain alignment with corporate policies.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and work proactively with legal counsel and HR leadership to update policies, practices, and contracts accordingly.
  • Assist with maintaining up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and will provide guidance to HR and management teams on compliance issues. This includes compiling the information needed to file various government reports (EEO-1, VETS-4212, etc.) and ensuring timely and accurate filings.
  • Assist in creating, revising, and implementing HR compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documents, records, compliance reports, and employee file organization to ensure information is easily accessible for audits, legal requirements, or internal reviews and stored in an orderly manner and in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and internal storage requirements.
  • Assist with developing and delivering training materials related to compliance topics such as anti-discrimination, wage and hour laws, employee privacy rights, and safety standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Remote work, but within a 1-hour commuting distance of Houston, Texas.
  • Availability to come into the office for meetings or special projects.
  • Overtime is required as special projects arise.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, and 2 years' experience in an HR role or a function with Compliance responsibilities OR a High School diploma and 4 years' experience in an HR role or a function with Compliance responsibilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws/processes, including EEO-1 reporting.
  • Experience mapping processes in Lucid.
  • Experience using Canva.

Role can be filled at a level and pay that is commensurate with education and experience.
