DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position references, researches, and applies the rules and regulations found in the Motor Vehicle Code, Management Directives, Department Regulations, and the Refund Module in making determinations as to whether customers are entitled to refunds or credits. The position is also responsible for the disposition of returned checks. Exceptional customer service and communication skills are key in this position.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

In accordance with the seniority provisions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, this position was previously posted for seniority candidates. Since there were no seniority candidates, it is now open to all applicants.
