Zayo is seeking a Lead Technician - Global Network Operations Center to serve as the primary technical and operational leader within the Transport Network Control Center (NCC). The Lead Technician - Global Network Operations Centeroversees Tier I, II, and III technicians, ensuring efficient workflow, proper escalation, and successful resolution of network issues. The Lead Technician - Global Network Operations Center provides mentorship, manages complex technical projects, and acts as the primary liaison between the NCC and senior leadership.

NOTE: We are open to having this role located in Tulsa OK or Remote USA
This role requires the working the following shift:

  • Weekend Shift: Day Shift 7am - 7pm Central Time Zone
  • Days: Saturday - Tuesday (weekly schedule)

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Oversight - Transport Team

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of Tier I, II, and III technicians.

  • Develop and implement operational standards and best practices.

  • Ensure proper escalation and resolution processes are followed.

Technical Expertise and Problem Solving

  • Provide technical leadership for resolving critical and complex network issues.

  • Oversee the implementation of network upgrades and changes.

  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring network problems and implement corrective actions.

Training and Development

  • Mentor and coach technicians at all levels to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Facilitate training sessions and create educational materials for NCC staff.

Operational Efficiency

  • Manage workflows and prioritize tasks to ensure smooth NCC operations.

  • Collaborate with other departments to align objectives and streamline processes.

  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for network operations.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Act as the main point of contact for senior management and external stakeholders.

  • Communicate updates on network performance and critical incidents.

  • Lead cross-functional meetings to address network challenges and improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Networking, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in telecommunications or network operations, including leadership roles.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage high-pressure situations.

  • Extensive knowledge of Layer 1 network technologies and management systems - including Fiber.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.

  • Proven track record of delivering results and driving continuous improvement.

Estimated Base Pay Range: $37.31 - $49.74 USD/hour.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.

The posting will be active for a minimum of 3 days. The active posting will continue to extend by 3 days until the position is filled.
