Area of Interest: Therapy Sign On Bonus: $10,000 FTE/Hours per pay period: .80 Department: Occupational Therapy Shift: Full-time: Monday - Friday, primarily 7:00 am - 3:30 pm or 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with rotation to 9:30 am - 6:00 pm (1xweek), for 64 hours per pay period. Performs occupational therapy patient evaluation per provider referrals and maintains communication with the referring provider. Designs occupational therapy plans of care to integrate patient/family goals, treatments, outcomes, and provider care plan. Provides, educates, and supervises occupational therapy interventions per plan of care. Identifies and addresses educational, psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of the patient and family. Responsible for the supervision of occupational therapist assistants and support staff in compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities Occupational Therapy Patient Evaluation, Treatment Interventions, and Education Assesses patient for appropriate occupational therapy evaluation and/or treatment. Completes occupational therapy evaluation and establishes plans of care, taking into consideration age, cognitive level, socioeconomic status, and support network. Determines appropriate interventions to improve patient function. Provides patient education regarding lifestyle improvements, home exercise programs, body mechanics, safety, and infection control. Meets regulatory and payer requirements by documenting patient evaluation, interventions and plans of care. Maintains ongoing communication with referring provider to ensure consistent plan of care and treatment interventions across all disciplines. Staff Supervision and Staff/Community Education Supervises and educates Occupational Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Techs according the State of Iowa Regulatory Standards. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Assists with or supervises educational activities within the organization as needed and appropriate. Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy License(s)/Certification(s)" Current and valid license in the State of Iowa as an Occuaptional Therapist BLS within 3 months of hire
