This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid telecommuting schedule after initial training is complete. This position includes tasks which must be performed on-site, but some assignments may be performed remotely.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, analyze, and continuously improve department/service specific metrics
  • Collect, organize, and brief organizational performance metrics to leadership and Government personnel
  • Utilize engineering or technical background to facilitate organizational improvement in areas such as projects, change development, and cultural transformation
  • Investigate and facilitate root cause analysis and verify preventive actions for mission anomalies resulting from personnel or procedural activities
  • Manage and facilitate activities supporting the organization's suggestion program
  • Independently analyze data, identify trends affecting organizational performance and provide proactive strategies to improve performance
  • Organize, lead, and facilitate continuous improvement teams and team activities
  • Create Six Sigma Value Stream and Business Process Maps to help define and optimize business processes
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge and skills to successfully lead/facilitate process improvement teams
  • Knowledge and skills using investigative quality tools for root cause analysis
  • Ability to work in teams with technical backgrounds to conduct process improvement activities
  • Ability to exercise diplomacy within a team environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quality engineering or Science, Technology, Electronics or Math STEM related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a quality engineering, project or continuous improvement environment field
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel
  • Direct experience employing Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Lean preferred)
  • Previous experience with DoD and Launch Range operations preferred

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Green Belt or Black Belt Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma training certified, preferred
  • Some travel (10%) may be required
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, whichincludes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License or state issued ID

The salary range for this role is $85,583 to $121,871; however, RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training and preferred skills and knowledge.
