Refinery, Senior Portfolio Manager

Purpose:

The Refinery, Senior Portfolio Manager provides strategic direction and leadership to ensure the effective execution of projects within a portfolio. This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing portfolio management and delivery processes, optimizing resource allocation, and aligning project outcomes with customer objectives and Worley. The position requires strong analytical, leadership, and decision-making capabilities to drive value, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

The Refinery Senior Portfolio Manager will also oversee key performance indicators, provide integrated solutions to strategic issues, and contribute to the Worley's business planning and growth initiatives.

Responsibilities:



  • Lead and manage a portfolio of medium to large-scale refinery projects, ensuring alignment with customer objectives.
  • Develop and implement portfolio management processes, tools, and key performance indicators to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain an integrated view of customer objectives, leveraging synergies across the portfolio to optimize performance.
  • Support the selection and prioritization of projects within the portfolio in collaboration with the customer.
  • Ensure compliance with company and project policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual business plans and drive strategic business growth.
  • Provide oversight for portfolio execution, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor and manage financial performance, including cost forecasting and margin optimization.
  • Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, best practices, and innovative solutions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are met across all projects.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:



  • 20+ years of experience, with at least 12 years in supervisory, project management, and/or technical leadership roles.
  • Proven experience managing small to medium-sized project portfolios, including EPCM and EPC and EP services.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with leadership teams to resolve complex project challenges.
  • Strong working knowledge of the oil and gas refining industry, including engineering, procurement, construction, and operations.
  • Has a strong technical background with a blend of office and field experience, ideally gained through roles in both EPC consulting and operating companies.
  • Expertise in cost management, forecasting, and financial analysis related to project portfolios.
  • Experience developing and executing business and strategic plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.

  • Risk & Opportunity Management: Expertise in risk identification, mitigation planning, and opportunity optimization.


Additional information :



  • This position will be based in the Englewood/Denver, CO area.
  • Salary: $169,037 to $248,584 annually commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.


Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).


Preferred:



  • Professional certification in Project or Portfolio Management (e.g., IPMA, APM, PMI, AIPM).
  • Experience managing large, high-risk projects within multicultural and multinational environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access and Visio.
  • Direct experience with field implementation of engineering projects.
