POSITION PURPOSE:

The Air Force Account Manager is responsible for managing and expanding North Wind Group's relationships with key Air Force stakeholders. This role is accountable for ensuring customer satisfaction, driving contract growth, and managing the execution of projects in line with Air Force requirements and compliance standards. The manager will serve as the primary liaison between the Air Force and North Wind Group, ensuring clear communication, robust performance, and adherence to regulatory and contractual obligations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Account Relationship Management:


  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Air Force clients including the Air Force Installations and Mission Support Center, Air Force Civil Engineer Center, Major Commands, Installations, and applicable agent contracting activities executing Air Force requirements (e.g., USACE, NAVFAC); develop and nurture long-term, trust-based relationships with decision-makers and key personnel.
  • Manage day-to-day communications, addressing issues and providing strategic counsel to ensure the Air Force's expectations are met or exceeded.

Contract and Performance Oversight:


  • Monitor contract performance and compliance, ensuring all deliverables meet contractual, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal business lines and subsidiary presidents to resolve performance gaps, optimize service delivery, and drive excellence in project delivery.

Business Growth & Opportunity Identification:


  • Identify opportunities for new projects or enhancements within existing contracts through proactive outreach and industry research.
  • Work closely with the proposal and capture teams to support bid/no-bid decisions and contribute to proposal development when required.
  • Collaborate with internal business lines and subsidiary presidents to prioritize business development actions including architect-engineer, construction, environmental, and advisory and assistance services opportunities.


Strategic Coordination and Collaboration:


  • Align account management strategies with overall business development goals and Air Force strategic objectives.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with sales, marketing, and technical teams to ensure that the account strategy is effectively implemented.

Data & Reporting:


  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the account management system and sales pipeline; provide regular performance reports and strategic insights to senior management.
  • Analyze account data to identify trends, forecast future needs, and recommend strategic actions.

Compliance and Risk Management:


  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant Air Force guidelines and North Wind Group policies.
  • Assist in risk analysis, including contract risks and performance issues, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Act as a visible leader and role model for safety, ethics, quality, and regulatory compliance both internally and in interactions with Air Force personnel.
  • Represent North Wind Group at industry events, customer briefings, and partner meetings to reinforce strategic positioning and market presence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience leading defense agencies, preferably with exposure to the Air Force.
  • Prior experience managing relationships with military or governmental agencies is highly desirable.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; capable of effectively engaging with high-level stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret and leverage data for strategic decisions.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and sound judgment under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Office 365 software suite.

Special Requirements:


  • Must be willing to travel to meet with Air Force representatives and attend industry events.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Familiarity with government procurement and contracting regulations is a plus.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


    • Sedentary physical workload, primarily office-based work with occasional travel and on-site visits.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:


    • Standard indoor office environment with regular access to a computer and telecommunication systems. Occasional visits to Air Force facilities or client sites may be required.
