Job Description: Trim Operator

Sets up and stages saw by scanning tickets barcodes (line item on order) into computer. From computer screen determines how to set-up/adjust guides on saw to maintain margins for ticket. Depending on order, could have to make manual adjustments/tweaking to meet or hold tolerances, certified lockout/tag out, Test door set-up and barcode printer, run orders. Change trim blades, sanding belts, calibrate the trimmer machine, quality check and measurements per order # line # before and after door sizing & accuracy of Jeta mark print and legibility, TPM.

Knowledge

Strong aptitude in measurement calculations and mechanical workings, Computer-controlled saw, knowledge of all aspect of the trim saw machine, including maintenance, blade changes, mechanical understanding, printer maintenance, order tracking process, door/ customer quality specs, door types, core types, Master pack, knowledge of other positions including feeding the saw and catching the doors.

Skill

Operate computer controlled trim saw, retain high level of information, read/interpret schedules/tickets, perform quality checks, safety checks including guards and tooling, tooling changes and sanding belt changes, use multiple hand tools including wrenches, mallet, feeding and catching doors.

Responsibility

High level of responsibility, set up and run machine with no supervision, incorrect operation can result large quantity of damaged product or heavy financial impacts to repair machinery/tooling. High impact to COQ and cause delays in customer shipments

Physical Demands

Manually slides/flips door (max. 100 pds per door), stooping, bending, twisting, pushing, feeding, and standing for long continuous hours.

Mental Demands

Fast paced job with high attention to quality and details a MUST.

Social

Must be able to communicate verbally/non-verbal ques with door feeder and flippers.

Working Conditions

Mildly controlled environment - can expect some cold and heat during extreme weather conditions. High dust and noisy environment.
