A Brief Overview

This Manager, Inventory Process Improvement will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing inventory management processes to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient operations. This includes managing and enforcing inventory control policies, monitoring and analyzing inventory data, collaborating cross-functionally with partners to improve processes and systems while handling inventory related financial transactions to support budgeting and forecasting. This position will also play a heavy role in acting as a SME to provide design and implementation guidance on the supply chain transformation systems.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures to maintain optimal inventory levels ensuring alignment with organizational goals and demands.

  • Serve as the SME for the design and implementation of supply chain transformation systems, driving strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency and resilience. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective design, modifications, testing, and integrations. Propose implementation changes in transformation program operations and support with overcoming obstacles through robust project planning and management.

  • Defines test cases to support new or enhanced capabilities ensuring rigorous User Acceptance Testing and quality assurance.

  • Train, lead, develop and coach a team of direct reports. Share inventory control best practices across the organization driving knowledge transfer and operational excellence.

  • Collaborate with IT to enhance inventory management systems and tools, driving technological innovation and system optimization.

  • Drives continuous assessment and refinement of systems to ensure alignment with evolving workflows and processes.

  • Monitor and analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement, leveraging advanced analytics for strategic decision-making. Prepare and present comprehensive inventory reports to leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations.

  • Coordinate with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure accurate inventory forecasting and planning to optimize supply chain performance.

  • Manage inventory-related financial transactions, including reconciliations and adjustments. Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and compliance with financial standards, ensuring regulatory adherence and risk mitigation. Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to inventory.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience Required

  • Experience Qualifications

  • 7-9 years of progressive experience in inventory control, preferably within a finance department Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in inventory management software and financial reporting tools.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.

  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
