In need of an SLP who can participate in a weekend rotation schedule, but who also has weekday availability for sick call and PTO coverage. Preferred clinician qualities include flexibility, reliability, commitment to quality, and the ability to operate at the highest level of clinical practice.

The employee must be self-driven, outcomes oriented, and able to demonstrate quality work within a fast paced environment, so as to meet productivity as it aligns with our stewardship value. A good candidate is also someone who has optimal time management skills, is highly collaborative, and able to see the "big picture". Strong inter-disciplinary communication is required. MultiCare utilizes EPIC for all electronic medical records.Department productivity standard is currently 69% for 8-hour day with expectation of 7-9 patients seen per day.

All employees are expected to cross-cover both Auburn and Covington Medical Centers, so training occurs for both sites in the first month or two. Per diem staff are also expected to work a minimum of 1 holiday per year, and be able to complete mandatory education/training during non-shift hours, but on the clock. New Employee Orientation process is very rigorous for the first few weeks to a month (and would likely require some time off from an alternate position), and certain aspects are mandatory with regard to schedule.

Position Summary

Responsibilities

• You will provide assessment, interpretation, and reporting of clinical observations
• You will perform patient assessments with physician and develop treatment plans
• You will perform and interpret results of Videofluoroscpic swallow studies and fiberoptic endoscopic of swallowing
• You will confer with physician and other health care professionals

Requirements

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Hearing-Language Association OR be in the process of completing a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) with supervision by a CCC-SLP in accordance with standards defined by the ASHA
• Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Washington or holding an interim permit
• Current BLS Certification required
• Previous Experience as a Speech Language Pathologist preferred
