Position Summary:

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Quality Assurance, you are the focal point for Program Quality support for Airbus U.S. Space Systems, assuring the integrity of deliveries, meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance as defined by AUS procedures and the requirements set by our customers and contracts. You are the Liaison between the customer and Airbus U.S. Space Systems regarding RFV, RFD, EIDP, GIDEP, Appling statistical techniques, trend analysis and continuous improvement tools on product, process, and program performance to provide early warning indicators for the initiation of preventative or corrective actions.



  • Initiating, facilitating, managing, and validating the effectiveness of root cause analysis, corrective, and preventative actions utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills.
  • Reviewing and analyzing project and customer requirements and assisting project teams in tailoring and using company procedures, methods, templates, and tools.
  • Coordinating verification and validation processes for the inspection and acceptance of hardware, software, and data deliverables to comply with customer requirements.
  • Supporting project tailoring, project plan/documentation development, and other activities to establish the project's execution processes.
  • Supporting the coordination and execution of Customer and Supplier Non-Conformance Review Board (NRB), Corrective Action Boards (CABs) and Management Reviews.
  • You will work closely with the TM's, SDM's, and SCPM to ensure proper documentation from suppliers, are compliant with specifications and requirements for delivery of our products to our customers.



Position Responsibilities:

Customer Support: 50%



  • Applying statistical techniques, trend analysis and continuous improvement tools on product, process, and program performance to provide early warning indicators for the initiation of preventative or corrective actions.
  • Initiating, facilitating, managing, and validating the effectiveness of root cause analysis, corrective, and preventative actions utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills.
  • Reviewing and analyzing project and customer requirements and assisting project teams in tailoring and using company procedures, methods, templates, and tools.
  • Coordinating verification and validation processes for the inspection and acceptance of hardware, software, and data deliverables to comply with customer requirements.
  • Supporting project tailoring, project plan/documentation development, and other activities to establish the project's execution processes.
  • Supporting the coordination and execution of Customer and Supplier Non-Conformance Review Board (NRB), Corrective Action Boards (CABs) and Management Reviews.
  • You will work closely with the TM's, SDM's, and SCPM to ensure proper documentation from suppliers, are compliant with specifications and requirements for delivery of our products to our customers.
  • Ensuring EIDP's are complete and compliant with established, defined requirements.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the customer regarding the status of EIDP's, open NRB's, GIDEP concerns, RFV's, in addition to Payload and Bus deliveries.
  • Create presentations for review with the customer, direct management, and senior leadership.
  • Participate in all program readiness reviews. PDR, CDR, MRR, etc.



Satellite Manufacturing Mission Assurance: 15%



  • Support Mission Assurance activities, including design of overall approach/philosophy on mission assurance, based on the development of a commercial approach to manufacturing satellite buses, including:

    • Quality Assurance
    • Reliability Engineering
    • Parts Engineering
    • System Safety Engineering
    • Material and Process Engineering
    • Contamination and Control
    • Launch Quality


  • Collaborate and partner with program management, engineering, manufacturing, and operations functions, including key subsidiaries and external customer, while performing independent assurance evaluations to ensure program performance, quality, cost, and schedule requirements are met.
  • Lead Material Review Board and Failure Review Board activities as required to support customer deliveries.
  • Active participation in design, production/test readiness, and other reviews and audits with the ability to make risk-informed decisions for mission success.



Bid Support: 15%



  • Support Airbus U.S bids & proposals through competitive request for proposals.



Continuous Improvement 10%



  • Implement new quality processes and systems where appropriate.
  • Support a Design for Quality, inspection, manufacturability, and testability philosophy within capital and program investments.
  • Assist in continuous improvement activities throughout the business ensuring that problems are prevented and that customer requirements are met with any problems resolved effectively and economically.



Additional Responsibilities: 10%



  • Other duties as assigned.
  • This position is not intended to be all-inclusive, and the employee will also perform other tasks as assigned.



Qualified Experience/Skills/Training:

Education:



  • Required: bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.



Experience:

Required:



  • Proven history of Customer support in a Program Quality Management role
  • Proven record of achievement in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Operations or Quality.
  • 5 years or more of experience in Aerospace Quality, Program Quality with experience in Quality Systems, Quality Engineering, Inspection, Suppliers, Process Development, Audits, Customers, and Regulatory affairs.
  • ISO-9001/AS9100 experience.
  • Knowledge of processes, requirements management and engineering and project life cycles and their application.
  • Experience delivering within a multi-functional and/or multinational team to achieve our goals.
  • Experience delivering improvement actions/projects.



Preferred:



  • Experience in satellite manufacturing and mission assurance.
  • Experience with configuration management practices.



Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:



  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to summarize complex industrial situations in a clear manner.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Team player to collaborate with lines of business and functional partners like IT, Finance, HR, Contracts, etc.
  • Demonstrated capability to distill and articulate complex Federal regulations and internal Quality requirements for shop floor execution and executive awareness.



Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Presentation, Proficiency in Other Languages):



  • Fluency in both verbal and written English required.



Technical Systems Proficiency:



  • Software fluency in MS Office Products, including proficiency with Teams.

Travel Required:



  • 20-30% Domestic & International
