Job Summary

As a Resident District Manager (RDM), you will lead and oversee a large, multi-unit dining operation, serving as the primary client contact and managing overall account performance. Your role will focus on strategic planning, operational excellence, financial performance, and fulfilling our mission to nourish students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a diverse team to deliver exceptional service to students, clients, and the community.

  • Develop strong client relationships and achieve key performance indicators, including profitability, safety, and employee engagement.

  • Participate in district leadership discussions, sharing best practices, promoting diversity, and managing risks.

  • Foster a transparent and accountable culture focused on education, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Represent Chartwells at key client and community events, seeking cross-sell opportunities and supporting client retention and rebid processes.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, USDA, and company policies, performing regular audits related to food safety, sanitation, and operational standards.

  • Manage performance evaluations, succession planning, and team development.

  • Oversee financial performance, ensuring accurate forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Education and experience consistent with USDA Professional Standards.

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of management experience in food service, hospitality, or support services.

  • Proven leadership capabilities and successful track record in managing operations and financial results.

  • Strong skills in customer service, critical thinking, communication, organization, and multitasking.

  • Commitment to inclusion, positivity, resilience, and professionalism.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and POS systems.

  • Ability to travel occasionally.
