SUMMARY
The Product Owner II aligns the company's vision with business partners, sets priorities for product families, and communicates a clear product roadmap to stakeholders and development teams. This position collaborates closely with stakeholders, Project Managers, and both business and IT teams to refine plans into detailed technical requirements, manage feature release communications, and navigate change management processes. Also, this position co-leads IT meetings, participates in Agile ceremonies, and ensures product updates meet defined business outcomes effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Aligns vision with business partners, determine priorities within the assigned product families and deliver successful business outcomes.

  • Cultivates and communicate the product roadmap to stakeholders and development teams.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders, PMs, and business/IT teams to refine high level plans and concepts into requirements for technical development.

  • Partners with business/IT teams to prioritize enhancements, and overcome constraints and obstacles.

  • Manages feature release communications and work through the organizations change management process.

  • Co-leads and participate in various IT meetings and Agile ceremonies.

  • Manages product capabilities and features in a backlog.

  • Manages enhancement priorities, conflicts, constraints, and sequencing in alignment with the project or roadmap.

  • Validates product updates to ensure all requirements are completed and meet the defined business outcome(s).

  • Supports and adhere to the Software Development Lifecycle documentation, documented standard operating procedures, and other processes at the Bank.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent oral & written communication skills, people-interaction and stakeholder interaction skills.

  • Analytic and critical thinking.

  • Ability to communicate complex analysis in a clear, precise and actionable manner.

  • Experience of managing products (physical or digital) with a client experience lens.

  • Demonstrated business acumen to understand business needs, drivers, and requirements.

  • Demonstrated technical literacy translating business needs into consumable technical requirements.

  • Ability to negotiate and effectively manage the needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities or tasks at the same time and determine priorities based on multiple possible outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to work/manage within Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Ability to follow guidance from more senior team members.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required and

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field preferred

  • 1-3 years experience in product ownership, project/product management, business analysis, and or equivalent combination of education and experience required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner preferred or

  • Professional Scrum Product Owner preferred or

  • Similar Certification preferred
