Are you super passionate about accelerating nuclear deployment and seeking an exciting internship? If so, we have the opportunity you're looking for!

Join us this summer for a paid internship where you will be performing reactor physics simulations on the Sodium-cooled Thermal-spectrum Advanced Research Test Reactor (STARTR) design. STARTR is an open-source microreactor design that will soon be added to the National Reactor Innovation Center (NRIC) Virtual Test Bed database. The ideal candidate will have experience with OpenMC or MCNP. As an intern, you will report to the NRIC group, which follows a 9x80 schedule and operates onsite at our Idaho Falls campus. The start date and duration of the internship are flexible and depend on project needs and your availability. Additionally, you may be eligible for course credit for this internship if it is approved by your university.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:




  • Undergraduate senior or graduate master's student enrolled full-time at an accredited college/university studying Nuclear Engineering



  • A minimum overall (3.0) GPA



  • Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

Compensation and Benefits:




  • Undergraduate Internships ($26.16/hour - $31.47/hour)



  • Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($32.87/hour - $35.26/hour)



  • PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($35.95/hour - $38.41/hour)



  • Eligible interns are provided paid holiday time off, and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.



  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on degree field and level of education.
