Job Title: Staff Accountant Location: Tempe, AZ Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 per year Employment Type: Contract to Hire \| Onsite Vaco Phoenix is partnering with a growing client in Tempe, AZ, to identify a skilled Staff Accountant for an onsite, contract-to-hire opportunity. This position is well-suited for someone with strong accounting experience who thrives in a detail-oriented and fast-paced environment. A degree is not required-we're looking for 3-5 years of solid experience and proficiency with large ERP systems like Sage. Key Responsibilities: Perform general ledger accounting duties, including journal entries and reconciliations Support the month-end and year-end close processes Prepare financial reports and assist with financial statement production Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts Manage accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets Assist with internal and external audit requests Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements Qualifications: 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience Experience with a large ERP system (Sage ERP strongly preferred) Strong Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of GAAP Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
