We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Kafka Engineer 6+ years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Kafka and a strong background in the Payer domain. This is a hybrid work model with day shifts and no travel required. The candidate will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our systems ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

• Lead the design and development of high-quality software solutions using Kafka.
• Oversee the integration of Kafka with other systems and applications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements.
• Ensure the scalability and reliability of Kafka-based systems.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kafka and other technologies.
• Develop and maintain documentation for Kafka-based systems.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
• Participate in agile development processes and contribute to sprint planning.
• Ensure compliance with security and data protection standards.
• Optimize system performance and ensure high availability.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.

• Must have extensive experience with Kafka and its ecosystem.
• Should have a strong background in the Payer domain.
• Must possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Should have experience with agile development methodologies.
• Must have strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Should be proficient in troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Must have experience with version control systems like Git.
• Should have a good understanding of security and data protection standards.
• Must be able to mentor and guide junior developers.
• Should have experience with continuous integration and deployment.
• Must be able to work effectively in a hybrid work model.
• Should have a proactive approach to learning and staying updated with new technologies.
• Must have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.

Certified Apache Kafka Developer Certified Scrum Developer

The annual salary for this position is between $81K - $95K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
