The Job Position reports to and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer to develop financial analysis and forecasts that senior management can use to monitor financial and operational performance of its product lines and provider network. The V.P. will play a key role in identifying and monitoring performance to essential operating metrics and outcomes for the company as required supporting its health care margin objectives and goals. Focusing on results and collaborating cross functionally, the V.P. will lead the organization to institutionalize the use of data analysis to identify the appropriate criteria that must be included in business decisions. The V.P. will provide senior management with the data and analysis and the guidance on how to move forward using that data. You Will Develop and manage SCAN Group and SCAN Health Plan(s) annual operating budgets and quarterly forecasts through collaboration with Actuarial team for revenue and healthcare costs projections, and FP&A team for administrative cost projections. Provide leadership in analyzing product performance, network performance, administrative cost trends, healthcare cost and utilization trends, and identify and pursue opportunities for improvement. Partner with VP, Accounting to manage the monthly financial close process, inclusive of budget/forecast variance analysis and explanation. Manage the Investment Review Committee that evaluates company investments for appropriate business justification based on quantitative and qualitative factors. Development of membership forecasts for current year and future years based on sales projections determined through collaboration with Sales team, and disenrollment forecasts based on product specific forecasting methodology derived from historical trends and future expectations. Tight management of company administrative cost and process tools, inclusive of ongoing identification and evaluation of "Transformation" opportunities to increase company efficiency. Identification of strategic considerations and opportunities related to company financials and operations that will drive overall success of SCAN Health Plan and SCAN Group. Support the Actuarial team in development and preparation of Medicare and Medicaid rate proposals and bids through development of appropriate membership projections and administrative cost forecasts. Report on performance of key strategies (e.g. dashboards, KPls, etc.). Present updates to executive leadership on a monthly / quarterly basis Analyze product performance, network performance, administrative cost trends, healthcare cost and utilization trends, and identify improvement opportunities. Oversee and enhance financial forecasting processes, modeling tools, and budget compliance activities. Lead the assessment of financial feasibility for proposed programs and projects. Conduct ad hoc analysis to understand and manage the business. Identify and/or implement initiatives in areas of margin improvement, compliance, and system and tool enhancements. Manage department workflow including prioritizing, scheduling and assigning tasks to staff and fostering a team environment through the communication of departmental and individual performance objectives. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
