Responsibilities

Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. The Therapist is responsible for conducting Biopsychosocial Assessments, individual, family and group therapy, as well as treatment plan creation and updating in respective assigned timelines. The Clinician is responsible for overseeing patient discharge planning process and appropriate utilization of department resources. The Clinician encourages active participation in programming and documents all services, interventions, and outcomes in a timely manner. The Clinician responds to emergency codes as requested or assigned.


Qualifications

Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related human services field from an accredited college or university related to licensure requirement

Completion of appropriate internship including the provision of individual, group, and/or family therapy. Experience providing individual, group, and/or family therapy in an inpatient facility is preferred.

Current LMSW, LCSW, LPCA, or LPC Texas licensure required. Additional credentials of LCDC or LMFT are a plus. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider course to be completed prior to working in a clinical setting and every 90 days. Handle with Care, and Verbal De-Escalation training must be completed during new hire orientation and annually prior to working in a clinical setting. Additional training to be completed with respective timeline.

Complete psychosocial assessment. Develop, modify, and oversee individualized treatment plans. Maintain accurate documentation of therapeutic services as provided. Facilitate individual and group therapy, and family consultation in accordance with treatment plan/patient safety. Attend and participate in treatment team as assigned by Clinical Services Manager and Director of Clinical Services. Provide case management services. Interface with other departments, including Utilization Management if requested. Oversee discharge planning requirements. Communicate patient status to multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrist. Provides services and documentation in a timely fashion in accordance with best practice standards by regulatory bodies, TAC, and facility policies. Participate and document clinical supervision. Ability to communicate effectively with all types of patients and caregivers. Must be able to identify and address the needs of all types of patients in the adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups. Practices teamwork.
