POSITION SUMMARY:

Renewal by Andersen is looking for an accomplished, driven, and collaborative Senior Product Development Engineer on our Research, Development and Innovation team to act as a technical team lead for large-scale new product development projects, or as a team member with ownership for end-to-end delivery of difficult and/or complex technical workstreams within a project.

There has never been a more exciting time to work in research and development at Andersen. This engineer will be an integral member of the New Product Development team. The purpose of this role is to develop new products and services via Stage-Gate product development processes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs, plans, collects, analyzes, and reports on experimental studies and/or new product concepts/ideas.
  • Shows independent creativity and initiative for business and organizational contributions
  • Drives discussions and decisions on overall project objectives with managers and other functional leaders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Experience as a design engineer on a cross-functional engineering team
  • Strong aptitude for process improvement, problem solving, technical execution, and project management
  • Experience delivering products from ideation through commercialization using a gated design review process
  • Nice to have:
  • 5-10 years engineering or technical experience
  • CAD experience required

NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

* Experienced knowledge of lean, manufacturing, design, and quality systems

* Demonstrated ability with dimensional engineering and tolerance/variation analysis

* Experience as a design or project lead on a cross-functional engineering team

* Experience with Autodesk, MS Office, BAAN, and MES

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, coordinate, and lead activities on technically challenging assignments
  • Develop multiple concepts related to meeting a customer need
  • Evaluate and recommend engineering and design solutions
  • Create and present reports summarizing technical analysis and business viability to varied audiences
  • Maintain primary technical communication responsibility, lead tactical discussions, and effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external customers and staff.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily located in an office environment; however, there is an opportunity to work in a flexible/hybrid work environment depending on the preferences of the candidate. This role is based in Renewal by Andersen's Cottage Grove, MN facility.

COMPENSATION:

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $99,216 - $153,784.

PROFIT SHARING: In 2025 Andersen has set a profit sharing target of $3,500 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
