WORK SHIFT: First Shift (United States of America)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Reads blueprints, prepares materials, sets up welding materials, performs TIG welding, inspects welds, and maintains equipment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand the specific welding requirements for a project.
- Prepare metal components by cutting them to the right size and shape and cleaning and grinding surfaces before welding.
- Sets up welding equipment properly, including gas tanks, torches, and regulators.
- Performs the Tig welding technique
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and identify potential issues.
- Maintains welding equipment and troubleshoots any malfunctions and/or asks for assistance from the Shift Manager when they have questions and or/concerns.
- Maintains clean work areas and a clean work environment.
- Maintains reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, dependable, and flexible to potential schedule changes to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
- Executes each essential duty satisfactorily to perform the job successfully.
- Follows all safety procedures required in the work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
- Performs effectively as a team member, can work well with others, is open to receiving and giving feedback, and treats everyone respectfully.
- Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
- Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to management.
- Understands the department's key performance indicators (KPIs) and contributes to achieving these goals individually and as a team.
- Other duties as needed or required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs.
- Some travel may be required.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- TIG Welding experience
- 2-5 years experience in the field
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read from drawings/templates
- Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to adapt and adjust plans to meet changing needs.

- Safety glasses with side shields
- Hearing protection (e.g., earplugs, earmuffs)
- Leather top, slip-resistant, safety-toe shoes
- Welding jacket/welding helmet
- Face shield
- Face covering (mask) in accordance with company policy.

- Expected hours: 40 per week
- Normal shop hours are 6:30 am until 3:00 pm
