Savannah River National Laboratory's Environmental and Legacy Management (ELM) directorate is seeking a highly experienced Environmental Engineer/Geochemist to join their Environmental Sciences and Dosimetry team. This role is focused on leading, advancing, and applying geochemistry, geological and/or environmental engineering principles in a research and development (R&D) setting to anticipate and deliver innovative solutions in support of the Department of Energy (DOE) Environmental Management (EM) mission. This position will involve the development of innovative solutions for technically, challenging environmental concerns to facilitating closure of DOE's complex soil and groundwater issues within the existing regulatory framework, The focus is developing site specific technical strategies to facilitate closure, address emerging contaminants (i.e. PFAS) and conduct research on diverse, multidisciplinary environmental challenges. Includes working with a technical team for implementation of new technologies, expediting project completion, mentoring early-career staff, cultivating team interactions, and establishing a robust customer interface with personnel from the site and DOE Headquarters. |
