Overview

Assists in the provision of an efficient and effective clinical coding service within Carle by providing accurate and timely auditing and coding education to providers and coding team members to include CPT EM coding, CPT Procedural Coding, ICD10CM and ICD10 PCS coding, as applicable. Assist Coding Audit and Education Supervisor in managing audits and audit schedules for providers and coding team members. Auditors work closely with HIM leadership and Compliance to assure Carle providers and coding team members are following all regulatory requirements for code assignment. Auditors help identify training needs through ongoing internal provider and staff audits and assist with remediation and reaudit post education. Auditors are responsible to produce coding education materials in formats such as power point or LMS educations systems.
Qualifications

Certifications: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA); Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) - American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC); Certified Professional Coder (CPC) - American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC); Certified Professional Coder - Hospital (CPCH) - American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC); Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-Based (CCS-P) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA); Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA); Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), Education: , Work Experience: Coding
Responsibilities

Provide regular coding audits to Carle medical staff and HIM coding team members specific to CPT E/M, CPT Procedural, ICD10CM and ICD10 PCS coding
Provide education as needed, either one on one or in group format to Carle medical staff and HIM coding team members
Compile and track statistics related to the audit process
Attend meetings as required with providers and coding team members on topics related to coding and auditing
Develop education materials related to coding for coding team members and providers in formats such as power point and LMS system
Assist Coding Audit and Education Supervisor in managing audits and audit schedules
Meet with Compliance Billing Administrator and Compliance team regularly to review audits and attend meetings as required on topics related to coding and auditing education needs and follow up Work with HIM Coding management team to establish coding guidelines and assure coding team audits are completed timely Report compliance or other concerns directly to HIM Director as needed or indicated

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $25.18per hour - $42.05per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
