Position Description

As a part of our global field service team the internal field service engineer provides factory support to our customers and channel partners and communicates with internal departments, necessary for the continuous improvement of Sundyne pump and compressor products and processes. The internal field service engineer will become technically familiar with all Sundyne products and work closely with job site personnel and channel partners providing technical expertise for the troubleshooting of new and existing equipment.

Assist Aftermarket Engineering team with duplicate unit quoting. Depending on RFQ and workload, this can range from 10-25% of each week.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform job functions following all safety regulations and processes and take all required Sundyne job safety training courses.

  • Technical knowledge of centrifugal pumps and centrifugal compressor operations.

  • Create and manage cases in Microsoft CRM software to respond to service/customer service requests from customers and channel partners.

  • Work with Aftermarket engineering to provide duplicate unit quotes to customers.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction is achieved and maintained by delivering exceptional customer service to our customers and channel partners.

  • Troubleshooting and failure analysis of malfunctioning equipment.

  • Technical expertise on complex failure modes on rotating equipment for either mechanical, electrical or process related failure modes.

  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) with internal and external customers.

  • Independently perform warranty evaluations by effectively communicating with customers through email and phone calls, and hands-on with returned hardware ensuring that failure modes are or are not warrantable.

  • Communicate, collaborate effectively, and be professional with all levels of the job site and internal Sundyne personnel.

  • Acquire technical knowledge of all Sundyne products to include assembly and disassembly procedures.

  • Understanding of PLC Controls systems.

  • Train outside customers and channel partners in quarterly factory training courses.

  • Travel to customer sites to conduct training classes and participate in quarterly factory training courses.

  • Travel to customer sites to conduct site survey unit assessments.

  • Timely and accurate submittal of all required paperwork to include onsite time sheets and travel and expense reports.

  • Ability to read mechanical prints and GD&T for confirmation of parts being within OEM specifications.

  • Experience with Cause & Effect diagrams, P&IDs, and API seal plans.

  • Technical writing skills to properly perform reports and RCFA.

  • Experience with PLCs or rotating equipment/mechanical experience required.

Desired Credentials

  • 4-year college degree in Mechanical Engineering with 1-2 years field experience.

  • 2-year technical degree in related field with 3-4 years field experience.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience with non-degree.

  • Domestic travel up but no more than 10% is required of this position.

  • Base Salary plus overtime up to a certain level.

Compensation Details

Annual Salary: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00

Additional Compensation

Salary Range for this position: $70k-$90k (the salary offered will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and will be compared with internal equity along with market data for this position).
