Position Summary:
This Athletic Training position allows for a unique blend of traditional high school sports coverage with duties in our hospital's ambulatory Sports Medicine clinic. Within the clinic, responsibilities will include assisting in the diagnostic Sports Medicine ultrasound and regenerative medicine program and administering EPAT/shockwave treatments for musculoskeletal conditions. As the yearly high school coverage requirements end, the focus will shift to full-time hospital clinic coverage.
Schedule:
  • 3-4 days per week in the hospital/clinics (mornings) and 5 days per week at Needham High School (afternoons).
  • Weekend cover required as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the physician within their capabilities including evaluation, intervention, taping, and home exercise programs
  • Acting as a liaison between the patients, the doctors and support staff
  • Assisting support staff in daily duties and triage and ensures communication and coordination with both hospital and outside communities
  • 50% of the time at will be spent at the hospital and the other 50% will be spent working at Needham High school

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor's degree Education, Allied Health, or Applied Sciences required

Experience:

  • Ability to travel between the hospital/Clinics and Needham High School

Licensure/ Certifications:

  • National Athletic Trainer Association certification and licensure through the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health required
