Security Officer - Mall Patrol

As a Security Officer - Mall Patrol in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .

As an unarmed patrol officer in a retail or mall location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. Your role involves providing exceptional customer service, maintaining open communication with visitors and staff, and responding promptly to any concerns. You will contribute to a welcoming environment by upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach. This position does not require driving or carrying a weapon.

Job Schedule:

Responsibilities:

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall location, including both the interior and perimeter areas.
• Observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control and help to deter unauthorized entry into restricted areas.
• Support emergency response activities and follow established protocols during incidents.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential security-related incidents within the retail or mall environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security experience is required.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• California Security Guard Card is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
