What you will be doing: For this position, we are seeking a talented individual to join AIS as Director of Marketing and Communications where you will own the design and implementation of integrated marketing and communication strategies across digital, traditional, and emerging channels. You will identify market trends and translate company objectives for brand awareness, lead generation, and customer engagement. You'll lead a lean, high-performing team, reporting to the CTO, and partner closely with executive stakeholders including our CEO, CPO, and Presidents of the Federal and Commercial divisions. You'll market complex technical services and lead strategic communications to position AIS for growth across both Federal and Commercial sectors. Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Marketing Leadership. Develop and lead comprehensive marketing strategies and integrated campaigns across Federal and Commercial sectors, aligning marketing efforts with organizational growth objectives. Utilize analytics to monitor performance, derive insights, and continuously refine strategies for optimal ROI. Ensure AIS is building, marketing, and selling in close partnership with our technology vendors to maximize lead generation and drive higher close rates.
- Brand and Content Stewardship. Own the development and management of all marketing assets, including website content, sales collateral, digital ads, and corporate communications - ensuring brand consistency, clarity, and relevance across all platforms.
- Digital Marketing Strategy. Lead the planning and execution of digital campaigns leveraging SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media, content marketing, and display advertising. Optimize user engagement, lead capture, and brand visibility.
- Marketing Operations & Vendor Oversight. Manage external marketing partners and vendors, including creative agencies, swag providers, website developers, and event suppliers. Ensure deliverables are on-brand, on-time, and within budget.
- Web Presence & Optimization. Own the corporate website strategy, ensuring content, news, and resources are updated regularly to reflect evolving business priorities and offerings.
- Demand Generation & Lead Management. Collaborate with Growth and Sales teams to design and execute lead generation strategies. Oversee lead triage and nurturing across digital channels, conferences, and inbound sources to drive pipeline development.
- Thought Leadership & Content Marketing. Work with the CTO office and business units to develop high-impact content, including blog posts, case studies, white papers, and social content, which highlights AIS expertise and support both marketing and sales objectives.
- Industry Engagement & Events. Lead strategic sponsorships, industry memberships, and conference participation to elevate brand visibility. Manage planning and logistics for internal and external events, ensuring strong engagement and meaningful return on investment.
- External Communications and Brand Reputation Management. Manage external messaging, corporate communications, and public-facing content - including press releases, award submissions and media engagement. Monitor AIS's reputation and digital presence across news outlets, social media, and partner platforms, ensuring consistent messaging and proactive brand positioning.
- Internal Communications. Own the internal communication strategy to support employee engagement, cultural alignment, and organizational clarity. Collaborate with executive leaders and People Operations to craft messaging for key initiatives, leadership visibility, All-Hands and company-wide updates.
- Employer Branding & Talent Marketing. Collaborate with People Operations to shape and amplify AIS's employer brand. Support Talent Acquisition efforts by developing messaging and campaigns that reflect the company's values, culture, and employee experience across career pages, social media, and candidate-facing materials.
- Market Intelligence & Trend Analysis. Conduct ongoing market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and new opportunities. Translate insights into actionable marketing strategies.
As an AIS People Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Coaching and Development: Guiding employees in their professional growth through regular feedback, mentorship, and personalized development plans.
- Performance Management: Setting clear expectations, providing timely feedback, conducting performance reviews, and addressing performance concerns when necessary.
- Employee Relations: Building strong, respectful relationships with team members and addressing workplace concerns promptly and effectively.
- Timecard Approval: Ensuring accurate and timely approval of timecards.
- Career Development: Supporting employees in identifying and achieving their career goals while aligning with organizational objectives.
- Promotions and Compensation: Partnering with HR to evaluate and recommend promotions, salary adjustments, and rewards that reflect performance and potential.
- Accountability and Results: Holding employees accountable for meeting expectations, delivering results, and adhering to company policies and values.
Role Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
- 8+ years of progressive marketing and communications experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience developing and executing integrated marketing and communication strategies in a professional services environment (tech consulting and government contracting strongly preferred
- Deep expertise in digital marketing channels and tools, including automation platforms, CRM systems, and analytics dashboards.
- Firsthand mastery of HubSpot (or similar) customer relationship management platforms
- Demonstrated ability to manage direct reports, lead cross-functional teams, own complex projects, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong storytelling, brand, and executive presentation capabilities.
- Strong analytical mindset and experience leveraging data to guide decision-making.
- Creative, resourceful, and proactive leader who is comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels in a lean team environment.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Track record launching and running account-based marketing programs that generate >= $20M in qualified pipeline
- Fluency in marketing to the Microsoft Ecosystem to Federal and Fortune 500 clients
- 5+ years' experience designing and executing integrated campaigns for both U.S. Federal/GovCon (B2G) and enterprise (B2B) audiences. Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical services into compliant, highimpact messaging that drives measurable pipeline in each segment.
