Purpose: |
The Product Owner works with the VP of Operations, Program Manager, Partner and Key Stakeholders across the organization to determine the scope and deliverables for partner onboarding efforts and other large project initiatives within Specialty Client. The Product Owner is responsible to drive the vision of the OSPA Solution, understanding the functionality of the OSPA framework and its integration with other American Modern technical solutions/applications. The Product Owner is responsible for developing and maintaining the backlog of Epics and Features, and will collaborate with the Project Sponsor, Project Manager, and Key Stakeholders to prioritize user stories. In addition, the Product Owner is involved in all aspects of partner integration delivery. The product owner must be able to translate business processes and needs to technical Features and Components from which requirements can be developed. |
Roles & Responsibilities: |
- Develop and prioritize Technical Roadmap Including Epics and Features for Project Implementation
- Translate business and associate requirements into Epics and Features of how system should function
- Collaborate with Scrum Team to break down features into technical user stories which support sprint planning
- Monitor Story, Feature and Epic Delivery ensuring acceptance and success criteria
- Act as primary liaison to other business areas during project assuring inclusion of required scope
- Create/Review/Approve internal requirement documents that will be communicated to IT
- Develop business process models and business scenarios for use in requirements or testing activities
- Facilitate meetings within specialty clients, or with other internal business groups and external partners.
- Work with Operations VP and Project Manager/Scrum Master and Technical Leads to build scalable and repeatable onboarding/integration process
- Ensure alignment with Data Governance on project decisions and approach
- Ensure effective communication flow across project team members

Required Technical Skills: |
- Knowledge of SCRUM/AGILE Principles/Disciplines
- Strong understanding of OSPA and familiarity with AMSuite and how they impact each department
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Understanding of how to create and execute a test plan
- Understanding of how to create and track tickets using VSTS
- Critical thinking, problem solving and deep dive analysis skills
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across the organization with key partners, IT and stakeholders. Must be able to communicate business needs, understand technical constraints, and ensure understanding across the organization
Education, Certifications & Designations: Required:
- Bachelor's degree Business, IT or similar field or equivalent work experience
- Property/Casualty Insurance Experience including Insurance Operations
Preferred:
- MBA or similar advanced degree
- CPCU or other P&C insurance related studies
- Quality or Lean Certifications
