The Loudoun County Department of General Services is seeking qualified applicants for Maintenance Technician I positions in the Waste Management Division. This is a general maintenance position that will assist with landfill and recycling operations by performing grounds maintenance at the 400-acre Landfill site utilizing lawn mowers, tractors, rotary mowers, string trimmers, blowers, and vacuums.

Duties include, but are not limited to, lawn mowing, edging, trimming, fence-line maintenance, litter control, traffic control, recycling center and citizen convenience area operations and cleanup. Off-season work will entail performing maintenance on landscape equipment, fence repair, erosion control (raking, shaping, seeding, mulching), snow removal, and site cleanup.

Salary Commensurate with Experience

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related work experience in grounds maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prefer some experience in small engine maintenance and repair.

A valid driver's license and good driving record is required. Ability to lift 60 lbs. is required.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal and DMV background checks.
