Description
The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine is seeking a Staff Research Associate I to support studies focused on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), sarcoidosis, COPD, bronchiectasis, and lung transplantation. The position involves investigating innate immune responses, particularly the complement system, in modulating lung injury, using murine lung transplant models and human biospecimens. Responsibilities include performing surgical procedures such as left single lung orthotopic transplants, conducting molecular and cell biology experiments (e.g., PCR, flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry), managing mammalian cell cultures, and analyzing data for publication. The role also includes maintaining detailed lab records, managing the mouse breeding colony (including genotyping and health case response), maintaining lab equipment and supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The candidate will help train and supervise undergraduate researchers and new lab members. Hourly range: $26.52-$31.63 Qualifications
