Supply Chain Manager

Whippany Actuation Systems, a fast-paced and innovative aerospace manufacturer specializing in electromechanical actuators for both commercial and military applications, is seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain Manager to join our team. In this critical role, you will lead and optimize our supply chain operations-including planning, procurement, inventory management, and vendor coordination-to ensure alignment with production goals and business objectives. We're looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in a manufacturing environment, drives process improvements, leverages data for accurate forecasting, and builds high-performing teams to support operational excellence.

In this role, you would typically:



  • Direct all supply chain functions including production and inventory control, material planning and scheduling, shipping, receiving, and storage to support on-time delivery and production efficiency.
  • Maintains optimal inventory levels and accuracy of the perpetual inventory system to meet customer timelines and minimize excess or obsolete stock.
  • Oversee purchase order processing, material quotes, vendor negotiations, and expediting efforts to support business unit goals and production requirements.
  • Support weekly production meetings, communicate daily with Business Units to align material needs, and proactively address potential delivery or supply chain risks.
  • Manage supplier relationships by monitoring performance, auditing as needed, and implementing cost-saving initiatives related to freight and procurement.
  • Lead efforts in continuous improvement of supply chain responsiveness, Sales & Operations Planning, and system implementation to enhance overall department performance.
  • Recruit, develop, and evaluate supply chain staff to ensure team effectiveness, accountability, and alignment with company objectives.



We require:



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5 years' experience in materials management functions, such as planning, procurement, inventory control, and distribution of materials
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and data-driven decision-making
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and supplier teams
  • Authorization to work in the US



Eligibility Requirements:

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.

We would really like to see:



  • Experience with SyteLine ERP (Infor CloudSuite Industrial) or a comparable ERP system
  • Experience in aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing industries, with a solid understanding of traceability, documentation, and compliance requirements
  • Proactive problem-solver with a bias for action-able to quickly identify and respond to supply chain or production issues, driving resolution through to completion
  • Proven ability to foster a culture of open and honest communication, building trust and credibility through consistent and transparent engagement with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communicator who ensures clear and timely flow of critical information both up and down the organizational structure



Compensation and Benefits:
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $140,000 to $165,000 per year. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position."
