Materials & Logistics Coordinator I
Job Summary: Join our team as a Materials & Logistics Coordinator, where you'll be responsible for ensuring that the right materials are in the right place at the right time - from the loading dock to the production floor. What You'll Do. As the Materials & Logistics Coordinator, you'll support the full lifecycle of materials movement - planning, stock room operations, shipping and receiving, and kitting - to support the production of precision electromechanical systems used in aerospace and defense.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain production and material plans aligned with customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Receive, inspect, store, and issue inventory in accordance with quality and compliance standards.
  • Manage the stock room, track inventory, and conduct regular cycle counts.
  • Prepare accurate and timely kits for production per work orders and BOMs.
  • Oversee domestic and international shipments, ensuring proper documentation and export compliance.
  • Collaborate with teams across engineering, production, and procurement to resolve material or scheduling issues.


Planning


  • Develop and maintain production and material plans based on demand forecasts, customer requirements, and manufacturing schedules.
  • Monitor material availability and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Track work order progress and proactively address material shortages or delays.


Stock Room


  • Oversee daily operations of the stock room, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials and components.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliation.
  • Maintain proper labeling, storage, and segregation of aerospace and defense components according to quality and regulatory standards.


Kitting


  • Create and manage kits for production based on work orders and bill of materials (BOM).
  • Ensure kits are complete, accurate, and delivered to the production floor on time.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve BOM discrepancies or shortages.


Shipping & Receiving


  • Manage incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring timely processing and accurate documentation.
  • Inspect incoming materials for damage and conformance to purchase orders and specifications.
  • Prepare domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with export regulations, aerospace/defense controls (e.g., ITAR), and customer requirements.



What You'll Bring


  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in materials coordination, shipping/receiving, or inventory management in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with aerospace/defense industry standards (ITAR, AS9100, DFARS).
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Epicor, Oracle).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.

Pay Range: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour
This position is at our Chaska, MN office location.
