PAY:

JOB SUMMARY: MCSG seeks a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support and advocate for the inclusion of the 392d Combat Training Squadron's (392 CTS) Distributed Mission Operations Center - Space (DMOC-S) M&S capabilities in joint, combatant command (CCMD), coalition, and service exercises. The M&S SME will participate in exercise planning conferences to inform exercise planners about the benefits of using DMOC-S's capabilities to meet training requirements. The M&S SME will travel to exercise locations worldwide to assist units in configuring communication systems to receive DMOC-S M&S data during exercise execution. While at exercise locations, the M&S SME will coordinate and manage dynamic DMOC-S M&S exercise injects with the 392 CTS in-house M&S production team to ensure seamless data flow between DMOC-S and exercise locations. Location: This position is on Schriever SFB, CO and requires on-site support.

PRIMARY DUTIES:



  • Attend exercise planning conferences to establish liaisons and collaborate with internal and external CCMD and service exercise stakeholders to understand their M&S needs; translate operational-level training requirements into recommended M&S technical approaches to satisfy exercise requirements; accommodate data collection; and leverage best practices, procedures, and techniques for each exercise.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with exercise M&S partners to evaluate operating systems and protocol suites; configure/update systems with exercise parameters; configure communication systems, voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment;and resolve interoperability problems to ensure seamless operations across all required platforms.
  • Develop and review exercise communication system requirements; compare potential needs with existing infrastructure; identify shortfalls and excesses; integrate communication systems to achieve interoperability; and establish continuity procedures and a reference library of pertinent policies, procedures, documents, and architectures to sustain current capabilities and their integration with 392 CTS DMOC-S communications architecture and M&S software.
  • Advise joint and coalition exercise partners on correct data format(s) and adjust message format to meet exercise requirements.
  • Advise exercise partners on Joint Range Extender (JRE) configuration, inputs and outputs, and configure data feeds to be disseminated at distant exercise locations.
  • Provide on-site communication support for the GPS Environment Generator (GEG) system testing, scenario development, and event planning and execution.
  • Work with local engineering support to develop plans to leverage commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and GOTS communication systems (RF, LANs, encryption devices) and emerging technologies to improve an exercise's ability to consume 392 CTS M&S data.
  • Support the setup, tear down, integration, testing, operation, and troubleshooting of M&S and comm systems when required.
  • Carry out tasks as directed by contract leadership to ensure 392 CTS mission success.



REQUIREMENTS:



  • Experience working in DoD or National space organizations.
  • Experience with distributed mission operations (DMO) capabilities.
  • Experience coordinating and processing requests for authorization to utilize production and dissemination through the Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS).
  • Experience with configuring space systems in an AOC.
  • Possess a valid passport and be available for worldwide travel
  • This position requires extensive travel (100+ days/year).



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Experience planning network architecture and data paths, Integrated Broadcast Service data production and dissemination paths, and space-centric production models such as ASSET, MDST, GEG, and NWARS-NG.
  • Experience troubleshooting data flow for DMO systems and Common Operating Picture (COPs) including Missile Defense Space-Warning Tool (MDST), Automated Scriptor Simulator Exercise Trainer (ASSET), Processing Display System-Migration (PDS-M), TRS-Dashboard, Space-Based Infrared System Standard Space Trainer (SBIRS SST), GPS Environment Generator (GEG), Joint Range Extender (JRE), etc.
  • Experience with troubleshooting data flow and system issues using Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) and High-Level Architecture (HLA) protocols.
  • Current or previous experience (within the last 5 years) planning, developing, coordinating, and executing system and communication link design to include data flow from producer to Common Operating Picture (COP) for United States Space Force (USSF) or other Services participation in Command, Service, Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) and Combatant Commander (CCMD) operations, exercises, demonstrations and experiments.



RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:15-17 years designing, integrating, and planning M&S capabilities in a DMO environment.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Sec+ certification (or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire date.)

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
