Position Summary:

Airbus U.S. is seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator at our Airbus D.S. Military Aircraft, Inc. (ADSMA) Facility in Mobile, AL. ADSMA is a FAR 145 and EASA 145.6332 certified maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility situated at the Mobile Regional Airport in Alabama. This business provides essential customer support for C212 operators globally, and CN235 and C295 operators within the US.

The Sr. Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining our computer systems and networks. The Sr. Systems Administrator will work with customers remotely and in person, guiding them through systems configuration and troubleshooting, while aiming to resolve issues with efficiency. Standout candidates will be excellent problem-solvers with outstanding communication and customer service skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Manage, recommend, and support procurement of IT solutions.



  • Ensure IT equipment is configured properly and running optimally, troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Make necessary configuration changes to support dynamic needs of the Company's user base, while maintaining security standards.
  • Ensure all servers and network equipment are configured in accordance with corporate guidelines and security requirements.
  • Maintain software licenses and subscriptions for all software used by the Company.
  • Maintain and optimize VMware environment.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot virtualization issues, and ensure high availability.
  • Perform VM provisioning, cloning, and migration tasks.
  • Manage and maintain Veeam and other backup solutions.
  • Implement and test backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with data retention policies and perform recovery testing.
  • Administer Exchange Online (mailbox management, policies, security).
  • Manage Active Directory, including users, groups, GPOs, and domain services.
  • Maintain and update Windows Server OS, applying patches and security updates.
  • Troubleshoot authentication issues and ensure identity security best practices.
  • Manage MFA solutions (Duo, Microsoft Authenticator).
  • Provide regular monitoring and security analysis to meet DoD security standards such as the CMMC and NIST 800-171r2.
  • Prepare security documentation for input into the cyber security systems security plan (SSP)
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for infrastructure-related issues.
  • Document system configurations, policies, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Assist in IT projects, including migrations, upgrades, and system integrations.



2. Provide end user support:



  • Support end users: software installations/configurations, hardware installations/configurations, troubleshooting, malware/virus detection and removal.
  • Primary support for ADSMA user accounts for Spain access that require coordination with the Affiliate IT network in Spain in compliance with our security and export control requirements.
  • Work with counterparts in Europe to ensure end users have all necessary access to perform daily duties.
  • Provide IT support for end users in ADSMA Finance using corporate finance systems hosted in Europe as required by the business and in compliance with our security requirements.
  • End user support for Airbus specific programs - Hub, My Pulse, etc.



3. Company ERP system, Pentagon 2000SQL; and other equipment support:



  • Provide complete support for Pentagon 2000; supporting all modules used by each department.
  • Develop and maintain custom SQL reporting, as required for each department.
  • Manage leases and contracts for voice/data services, wireless services, and printers/copiers.



Additional Responsibilities:

Other duties as assigned:



  • Provide IT support for end users using corporate finance systems hosted in Europe.
  • Provide recommendations on the improvement and growth of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Provide onsite IT support and communication for technical support systems in Europe.
  • Collaborate with fellow Airbus U.S. Information Systems Security Group colleagues located across multiple domestic office sites.
  • Departmental support with KPI development, processes within Pentagon.



Education:



  • Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security bachelor's degree OR Equivalent Experience


Experience:



  • Minimum of 5 years prior IT experience working in a related field or position.
  • 8 + years' experience preferred



Certification(s) (preferred not required):



  • CompTIA Network+, Security+, Server+
  • Microsoft Certified: Solutions Expert



Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:



  • Must have demonstrated leadership and excellent organizational abilities
  • Knowledge of a variety of concepts, practices and procedures within the IT infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, MPLS, and VPN
  • Proficiency in Active Directory, Windows Server administration, and PowerShell scripting
  • Must have the ability to make independent decisions with little or no supervision
  • Must have a high degree of integrity due to the confidential nature of the activities involved in this position
  • Must be knowledgeable of TSA security requirements as it relates to the security of the facility.


Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):



  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills
  • Must understand, read and write proficiently in the English language
  • Must be able to read and understand appropriate manuals, schematics, and technical information necessary to perform duties
  • Spanish speaking, a PLUS



Technical Systems Proficiency:



  • Windows Server 2016 or newer
  • DHCP/DNS/Active Directory/Group Policy
  • Proficiency with Cisco networking preferred
  • Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Intune, Purview, and Defender
  • LAN/WAN/VPN technologies
  • VoIP (Voice Over IP) telephony
  • Wi-Fi
  • VMware vSphere 8, vCenter 8
  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Data Tools



Travel Required:



  • Up to 10% travel required

  • This position is responsible for recommending IT equipment purchases, to include computers, servers, network hardware, copier leases, network security equipment, mobile and landline phones, etc.
  • This position provides end users and facility support for emergency needs on-call and on-demand, as necessary.
