Sterile Processing Surgical Tech Liaison Responsibilities:



  • The Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Surgical Tech Liaison demonstrates professional and advanced knowledge of aseptic, surgical technique, surgical procedures, and SPD needs.
  • This position identifies variances from expected outcomes and responds to changes in patient needs.
  • This position serves as a liaison between the SPD and the Operating Room (OR) to ensure smooth, uninterrupted daily instrument support while the role facilitates continuous communication and performance improvement as it relates to surgical instruments.
  • The Liaison coordinates with team members from SPD, OR, Service Line Leaders (SLL), Surgical Technologist Leads (STL), SPD supervisors, and Stryker personnel to develop a cohesive team.
  • This position maintains a quality log of the department in regards to OR defects and assists the department in reducing reported defects through lean process improvement and develops relationships that are positive among the department and its customers.


Sterile Processing Surgical Tech Liaison Requirements:



  • Certification - Basic Life Support Upon Start; Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Start
  • Experience - 2 years of hospital experience and/or previous practice experience as a Surgical Technologist (experience must be within the last 5 years)
  • Education - High School or GED
