Position Description

The Rehab Services Informaticist - Cerner/Prosthetics Focused will provide targeted clinical informatics support for the design, configuration, and deployment of Oracle Health (Cerner) electronic health record (EHR) solutions in rehabilitation and prosthetics service environments. This full-time role focuses on improving usability, clinical accuracy, and system alignment with operational workflows supporting Veterans requiring mobility restoration and rehabilitative care. The ideal candidate brings deep clinical knowledge, Cerner expertise, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. They will help reduce project risk, facilitate optimization, and enable long-term success for the rehabilitation teams we support. Applicants must have exceptionally strong communication skills and thrive in an environment of leading discussions and meetings with executive-level stakeholders.

Type of Employment: Full-Time

Work Location/Travel: Expected 50% travel required; applicants must be free from travel restrictions to accommodate evolving needs of the client.

Salary Range: $116,000 - $132,000 base salary, depending on experience and location.

Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with rehabilitation and prosthetics clinicians to assess current workflows and identify areas for improvement using Cerner tools.

* Assess and triage open change requests and issues and apply industry knowledge and expertise of Cerner functionality to resolve the tickets.

* Support EHR configuration and change management activities across rehab and prosthetics modules.

* Provide at-the-elbow support and learning.

* Design and validate test cases that reflect the end-to-end patient journey for prosthetics and physical rehabilitation services.

* Ensure alignment of system functionality with regulatory, clinical, and operational standards.

* Participate in user acceptance testing, review stakeholder feedback, and implement actionable improvements.

* Lead documentation of workflows, system design decisions, and training content development.

* Coordinate with Cerner build teams to apply necessary configurations and data element adjustments.

* Demonstrate excellent communication skills and present in the most polished and professional manner.

* Mitigate implementation risks and contribute to long-term system optimization roadmaps.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

* Proficiency in Oracle Health (Cerner) Model build and rehab-focused modules.

* In-depth understanding of rehabilitation and prosthetic clinical workflows.

* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

* Proven ability to support workflow optimization in clinical settings.

* Experience managing system issues and applying mitigation plans.

Education/Certification Required:

* Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or related clinical discipline required.

* Master's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.

* Clinical licensure preferred (e.g., RN, PT, OT).

Experience Required:

* Minimum of 6 years clinical experience in rehabilitation or prosthetic services.

* Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with Cerner implementations, including Model build.

* Required experience supporting VA and/or DoD Cerner deployments.

Technical Skills Required:

* Proficiency with Cerner tools including Workflow Designer, DCWs, and DDMs.

* Experience with HL7 interoperability and integration within prosthetic and rehab modules.

* Ability to facilitate configuration testing, defect tracking, and issue resolution.
