Job Summary

The Staff Scientist in the Reisman Lab will design and synthesize bifunctional molecules for targeted therapeutic delivery across the blood-brain barrier. These molecules combine a receptor-binding motif, modular linkers, and conjugation handles for attachment to therapeutic cargos. Efforts will focus on structure-activity relationship studies, linker diversification, and the development of new architectures to expand platform capabilities.

Essential Job Duties
  • Design and synthesis of small molecules
  • Characterization and Quality Control
    • Use NMR, LC/MS, and HPLC to characterize intermediates and final compounds.
    • Ensure purity, identity, and stability of synthesized molecules.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing synthetic progress, challenges, and proposed solutions.
  • Participate in regular project update meetings.
Basic Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry.
  • Post Ph.D. experience in an academic setting.
  • Understanding of functional group compatibility and linker design.
  • Experience with designing and synthesizing small molecules for biological targets.

Hiring Range

$60,000 - $82,500 Per Year

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
