ATI is seeking to hire a Sales and Marketing Manager to represent our Specialty Rolled Products Business Unit. This role will be focused on the Aerospace and Defense markets and be based in the Pittsburgh Metro-region in Natrona Heights, PA.

This role will operate in an engineering-intensive environment as the main point of contact for customer engineering teams as well as internal process and product engineering teams. Candidates with a background in materials science, chemical engineering, or other technical field focused within the manufacturing industry are encouraged to apply.

This position will be responsible for the execution and positioning to meet the monthly estimate and business plan objectives and will also have responsibility for driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our internal and external customer service model. Also responsible for leading the day-to-day tactical responsibilities of the Aerospace & Defense Account Representatives, including on-going training for the team. Serves as a liaison between the Company and existing and potential Customers.

Essential Functions



  • Monitor & report progress on sales targets. Identify and address barriers to achieving our estimates
  • Identify and implement improvements in the sales administration process
  • Establish and improve relationships with strategic A&D customers.
  • Use customer feedback to generate ideas for new growth opportunities and service expectations
  • Accountable for inventory management which includes but not limited to ownership of the stock request approval, and adherence to Make & Hold programs
  • Investigate and resolve customer partial payments. Provide information for pricing claims and denial letters
  • Order entry oversight; review for accuracy
  • Provide status for customer orders and detailed information to the customer
  • Release material to ship and provide "Must Ship Notices" to the traffic unit when required
  • Continue to develop, standardize, and maintain our on-boarding and on-going training program
  • Allocate resources and assign accounts as necessary
  • Responsible for quote execution and export compliance
  • Provide support to the field sales team, marketing, logistics, supply chain, and technical services organizations as needed

Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of professional experience required with strong knowledge in a manufacturing environment



Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's of science in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field
  • Metals background highly desired
  • Microsoft CRM experience a plus



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Proficient computer skills requiring working knowledge of the Microsoft Office software packages and ability to adapt to company specific systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written with internal and external customers at all levels
  • Applies understanding of sales and marketing concept and theories; and how own area contributes to company objectives
  • Be technically competent, persuasive and organized.
  • Ability to accomplish goals with excellent judgment, motivation and planning capabilities
  • Ability to develop better methods or techniques. Must apply professional knowledge.
  • Ability to set priorities for and to coach employees to meet daily deadline.
